Cinnamon Pretzel Bites

Lately I have been pinning a lot of ideas on pinterest. My favorite ideas are the food, diy, baby ideas, etc. I always pin things having good intentions but never use any of the ideas. Last night I came across the pin for Pretzel Bites, like the ones you get at the mall. They use Rhodes dough and were really easy to make. They were soo yummy. You bake them, dip them in butter + cinnamon/sugar + a vanilla glaze. We definitely will be making them again soon. Find the recipe here:

DIY Project Weekend

This last weekend, we spent Saturday working on the nursery. We are almost finished! We went on a mini shopping spree and did a couple of fun DIY projects.

Project #1: Fabric closet door. Since the walls are already painted, we didn't want to paint over them so we decided to accent the room with a fabric panel on one of the closet doors. This was Jayden's project, and he did such a good job! It looks so professional and really makes the room pop.

Project #2: Valance. The window in the nursery is very wide, and we got a valance in our bedding set. Since the valance wouldn't fit the width, we decided to find fabric to piece it together and make one long valance. This was my project. I don't have too much experience with sewing, but I think it turned out pretty cute.

Also, we found the rug at Costco! We were just walking down the isles, not looking for anything in particular when we spotted it. The rug really ties together the whole room. Also, my mom found the giraffe online, and he is so cute! Definitely a great addition to the room. I am going to be working on a couple projects for the walls. The rocking chair we are going to paint and reupholster as well.  Hope you like the pictures!

Everything coming together!

23 Weeks

I am 23 weeks and 2 days pregnant! At the beginning of my pregnancy, I told myself I would take a picture every week to see the progress over pregnancy. Well life got busy, and I haven't taken as many belly pictures as I had hoped. This week was the first week of classes. It has been interesting so far walking around campus pregnant. My back has been hurting pretty bad, but I think I just need to get used to wearing a heavy backpack and carrying a child inside of me at the same time, it puts a lot of strain on your back! My classes have been good and by the end of the day I am exhausted. Everyone stares at my stomach on campus like I don't belong there, but I will get used to it. I have been sleeping alright, but I have noticed I have had to get up during the night to go to the bathroom more, last night I think it was 4-5 times...yikes! I feel bad for Jayden, because it wakes him up every time I get up.

On a good and fun note, Jayden and I registered at target for all things baby! It was fun but kind of overwhelming how much stuff you need for a baby! Our baby this week weighs more than a pound, which is exciting. In just under two weeks, we have our 3d ultrasound, which we are really excited for!

Nuch's

Last night Jayden and I wanted to try a new restaurant here in Salt Lake City. A friend of Jayden's gave him the recommendation for the restaurant Nuch's in the Millcreek area. We were looking for a place that had authentic tasting pizza, and we found it! We started out with an appetizer that was a taste of homemade cheeses, meats, peppers, onions, garlic, and bread, it was incredible! We then ordered a pizza, half combo, and half Margarita with pepperoni. It might be the best pizza we have had, tasted like the pizza I had when we were over in Italy. To top if off, we finished with their chocolate cake, which was divine. Everything from Nuch's is  homemade. If you are in the SLC area soon, go try it! We will definitely be going back soon.

Our delicious appetizer with  bread, olives, peppers, tomatoes, salami, pepperoni, prosciutto, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese

The pizza really wasn't as big as it looks

mmmm so yummy!

Chocolate cake...to die for!

Senior Portraits

For those of you who do not know, I am working on my BFA in Photography/Digital Imaging. I have always loved artistic/landscape/nature photography and never really got into doing portraits.  A good family friend asked me if I would do her senior portraits for her. I was really nervous to do them because I have never done portraits for anyone. It was a blast! I had a fun time taking the photos, and Karren was so easy to work with. I am glad she asked me and that I had the opportunity. Here are some of her portraits.

Back to School + Nursery Update

Last night, Jayden and I picked up another addition to our nursery! It was a lot of fun to put together and we love the lamp we found. Here are some pictures of what we have added since I posted last.

If you look closely the main part of the lamp is a baseball bat

This year I will be a senior in college, I only have a few classes left to graduate! I went school shopping today for notebooks, pens, folders, etc and I still get giddy buying school supplies even though I am in college, I think it is still so much fun. They have a ton of cute choices for notebooks and supplies, I couldn't resist getting these..... even if they are too young for me, I don't care! I am really excited for this semester, I think that once school start it will make the rest of the pregnancy go by so fast! It is going to be a whirlwind of a few months, but we are excited to be really busy.

I am excited for school to start!

Cute notebooks!

Nursery Photos

Our nursery is coming along quite well! We do not want to wait until the end of the pregnancy to get the nursery put together, since the next couple months are going to be crazy! Before the baby is born there is a whole semester of school, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and possibly Christmas. Here are some pictures of what we have done so far. So far we have the crib, the dresser, and the bedding. We haven't really decorated anything yet, besides the bedding. Let me know what you think!

Baby Kicks

This morning I had an amazing experience. I have been able to feel the baby move since about week 16, but they were mostly just flutters or a little tapping sensation, nothing too big. The last few days, I have felt little random kicks, bigger than flutters but nothing too big once again. This morning I was laying on the couch, when all of a sudden I felt a big kick! Not only was there one kick, but it was followed by 10-15 more in the same place. Not only could I feel the kicks, but I could see them from the outside...quite the incredible experience! Jayden has been wanting to feel the baby so bad, but hasn't yet, and due to unfortunate timing, he was at work this morning. I was able to grab my camera and take a video of it to show him, and you can even see it on the video pretty well! I can not describe the feeling and how great it is to feel our baby kick :)

Unbroken Book Review

Jayden and I have both read Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand this summer. Usually we do not enjoy the same types and genres of books, but we both loved this one.  Unbroken tells the incredible story of a World War II POW. It is truly an amazing true story and a fascinating book to read. At first it took me a while to get into, but once you get into it, it is hard to put down. Last month, there was a night where I couldn't sleep, I woke up not tired at all. I laid in bed for a while, only to become more and more awake. After a couple minutes I decided to sneak into the family room to read. It was about 2:30 and I did not stop reading this book until 5 in the morning. It had my attention the whole time, and not once was I tired or started to drift off. I would highly recommend reading this book, even if it doesn't sound like a book that you would typically read.

SLC Weekend

This past weekend was so much fun! I love living in Salt Lake City, because there are so many great things to take advantage of. On Friday night, Jayden and I went to Cafe Rio ( no surprise there!) and then went to the park for the Millcreek townships Friday movie nights in the park. Millcreek put on quite the event. They had a big blow up screen, food, and fun activities. The movie was back to the future, and it was my first time seeing it! It was fun to be in the park watching the movie, and I even saw a couple of shooting stars.

We slept in on Saturday, which was lovely, and spent the morning relaxing. In the afternoon we headed downtown for some fun. We went to Gateway to see Rise of the Planet of the Apes. After the movie, we headed to Craft Lake City, where it was a lot of fun to see a couple friends that had booths and all of the fun arts and crafts. I got this cute bracelet. After walking around downtown and Craft Lake City, we were so hungry. We went to California Pizza Kitchen where we split a BBQ chicken pizza and a cobb salad. After CPK, we headed to one of Jaydens mission companions wedding reception at the Little America hotel. Overall, it was a really fun day downtown, and not to mention we got to ride the new trax train, which I was really excited about. On our way home, we noticed the amazing sunset, so we drove up to a great spot to get a very pretty view!By the way, we thought our outfits looked really good together, especially for a day downtown, so we had to take pictures.
