ANOTHER Day at the Zoo :)

On the merry go round

Gavin fell asleep after not getting his usual nap

the baby elephant Zuri was being so cute and so funny today. She was playing with this barrell type toy and we were lucky to have recorded it, because it is too cute!

Our friends Trevin and Randee spent the night last night at our apartment, which was a ton of fun! We decided to take them to the zoo today, since we can get them in for free with our season passes. It was probably the best day that we have had at the zoo. The zoo was empty, no lines and the animals were so active. Not to mention the weather was so nice! We were worried that there would be rainstorms, but there were blue skies the whole time. It was a blast!

Proud Wife

I am so proud of Jayden! He defended his Masters thesis today and he passed! It was a great day. My parents and Jayden's parents met me at our apartment this morning and we drove over to campus to watch Jayden give his public defense. One of our friends in our ward was able to watch Gavin for us. He did an awesome job with his presentation and impressed everyone. After we went to pick up Gavin and then went to lunch. We had lunch at Flatbread Pizza in Sugarhouse, which was delicious! It was a great day and we are excited to start this new chapter in our lives. Now Jayden just has to finish out his classes and then onto graduation in May!

Alternative photography and film photography//my artwork sneak peek

A lot of my major of Photography was focused on alternative methods of photography. Film photography has always been a passion of mine, but I fell in love with alternative methods as well. My last semester in college I took an alternative photography class which was required. I missed the first part of the alternative class that was taught the semester before, but being pregnant chose not to be around the harmful chemicals. I did an independent study for that class my last semester. At first I was scared because that meant that I had to learn 6 different methods in one semester. It turned out to be the most fun semester I have had photography wise. It was great. I also had my senior seminar class, which I worked with all film, I didn't even touch my digital camera my last semester, it was so much fun!

I wanted to share with you some of my film and alternative artwork. These are scans, so they aren't perfect and don't do the images justice, but you can get an idea.

For my senior portfolio series I worked with film and photographed a parking garage downtown. I printed darkroom prints 20x24 and then had them professionally put on a board. Here is a photo of them being displayed in the art building
