On Friday morning, I texted Jayden and asking him, "want to go camping tonight"? I was serious, but wasn't really on expecting to go since things have been really busy for Jayden at work. Well he replied yes! So I called the campground to reserve the spot and I started getting our stuff together. Jayden was able to leave work at 3. Once he got home, we finished packing and loaded up the truck. The drive to Ichetucknee Springs is about 1:45 minutes away. We got there about 7 pm. I got dinner ready while Jayden made the fire and set up our tent. We cooked hobo dinners for dinner and then roasted marshmallows and made smores. The kids were really tired and went to bed soon after that. It got pretty chilly that night. Lily slept in between Jayden and myself to keep her warm on the air mattress. Gavin was on a cot in his own sleeping bag. He stayed warm and slept the whole night without even moving positions. Lily slept really well too. Jayden and I didn't sleep that great because our air mattress has a leak and we seriously had to turn it on to inflate it almost every hour. Haha oh well. The morning was really cold, but it warmed up to about 70 during the day.
When we woke up, we made another fire and I cooked breakfast. We had bacon, eggs, hash browns, and bananas. It was yummy! Then we packed up and headed to the Springs. The springs were gorgeous and the water was perfectly clear! The water stays 72 degrees year round. Jayden went swimming and Gavin got in up to his knees. We did a few hikes and saw the springs and hung out there for the day. It was so much fun!
We also took our dog Daisy. She did great and loved it!
These photos are not in order fyi.

Gavin's favorite part of the trip may have been being able to pee on trees. Haha to be a 3 year old boy! |
