Fourth of July Weekend

Our friends Alyx and Spencer and their daughter Olivia came and visited us over Fourth of July weekend! We had such a good time with them and it is definitely one of the highlights of our summer!

They got to Jacksonville Thursday night and we just ate dinner, hung out, and got caught up with one another. Jayden had Friday off of work, so we went to the beach in the morning and then we went to Mellow Mushroom Pizza for dinner.

Saturday was Fourth of July. We started out the day by going to our ward pancake breakfast and bike parade. Lily and Olivia still are a little slow on their push bikes, so Jayden and Spencer took of their belts and attached them to their bikes and pulled them through the parade. It was so cute! The weather was pretty rainy later on in the afternoon so we just hung out at the house and Alyx and Spencer helped us clean and organize our playroom. It was such a big help. Later that night we went to watch fireworks at our friends parents house by the river.

Sunday we went to church and then walked around at Fort Caroline. We let the kids do a few fireworks and sparklers sunday night after a rainstorm and there was a double rainbow!

Monday morning we got up early and went to see the sunrise on the beach, the perfect way to start the week and end their trip. After that, they packed up and drove back to Alabama.

Thanks for the fun weekend Alyx and Spencer!

Our Bedroom Makeover

I decided to surprise Jayden for our 5th Anniversary by redoing our bedroom. Our bedroom is the one room that hasn't had any attention since we moved in 10 months ago. Jayden was down in Orlando for a business trip and then in Utah for his grandmas funeral. While he was gone I painted and completely redid it! I LOVE how it turned out! Take a look...

Here's a before picture

Our paint I got from Home Depot. It is a Behr flat paint

Our bedspread is Cynthia Rowley, I found from Tjmaxx

The curtains are from TJmaxx as well

The decorations I found from Hobby Lobby

The photo of us is a wood etching that Jayden had done of us a few Christmas's ago.

Jayden was SO surprised and SO happy! He loves it and was so happy.
