Growing Up

I was looking through old pictures today and came across a picture from Heathers wedding. I remember going to her wedding reception thinking that this wouldn't be me for years to come. Little did I know that less than a year later, it would!

Traveling

Traveling is a passion of mine. I can't pick just one place to share, so I will share some of my favorites.

This past summer I had the opportunity to go to Uganda on a study abroad. I love Uganda, I love the people and the culture. It is a beautiful country.Later I am going to do a separate post on Uganda and my adventure there with more pictures.

I LOVE Europe. Ireland and Italy are two of my favorites. Oh and London is pretty cool.

Venice! LOVE this city.

Favorite Movies

It is really hard for me to pick favorites. Especially since I have met Jayden, he just likes everything! We watch and go to a lot of movies. The very first time I met Jayden, he invited me over for disney night. Jayden and his roommates would invite people over every sunday night to watch a disney movie. That night we watched Wall E. I felt bet because I played hard to get and wasn't very interested ( just coming out of another relationship). Jayden didn't give up and the next time he invited me over, we were pretty much inseparable. So naturally I love disney movies :)

I really love 80's movies.

  • Ferris Buellers Day Off
  • Better Off Dead
  • Girls just want to have fun
I love comedy's. The movies that are so stupid but you can't stop laughing

  • HOT ROD (the first movie that Jayden and I watched together)
  • Talladega Nights
  • The Ringer
  • Zoolander
  • Drillbit Taylor
I used to HATE chick flicks. Now not so much. I blame it on Jayden hehe

  • PS I Love You
  • 13 Going on 30
  • Father of the Bride
  • The Guardian
I love Indie Movies

  • Bella
  • Under the Same Moon
  • Young Victoria
Jayden and I both love little kid animated movies

  • Madagascar ( Jaydens Favorite)
  • Despicable Me

This makes me smile

The gospel makes me truly happy. Right now I am finishing up President Monsons Biography "To the Rescue", by Heidi Swinton. President Monson is amazing! It has made me love for him grow so much and realize how is just like the rest of us in ways, and how he truly a prophet of God.

Family

Whole family together

I am a little behind on the blog challenge, but I am going to try to make up for it.

My family:

My Parents: Mike and Tiffany Flathers

Brother: Drew

I LOVE my family. They have loved, encouraged, and have been a great example to me. I wouldn't be the person I am today without them.

I think this is such a cute picture of my parents!

I recently found this picture of Drew and I in Hawaii. Look how little he is!

This was last christmas in Phoenix. I had always wanted to see a suns game in PHX. Just to spite me, drew wore his celtics jersey that night, and cheered on the celtics the whole time. (SUNS WON) :)

It has been a lot of fun getting to know and love Jaydens family. They are a blast to be around!
I love the way that Jaydens parents raised him.

Day 1: About me!

I grew up in the small town of  Alpine, Utah and graduated from Lone Peak High school. After high school I decided to attend the University of Utah. This was the best decision I have made. I met a lot of great friends, was involved with a great LDS sorority and later became the president, and best of all met my husband: Jayden Garfield. We were married this last summer in the Draper, Utah temple. We both attend the U, I am studying Photography/Digital Imaging and Jayden is working on his Bachelors/Masters in Biomedical Engineering. We are loving our busy life!

Proud to Be a Ute!

TCU game, very upset by our loss

Being silly during the game

How happy we were that BYU lost!

After the amazing field goal block

Everyone rushing the field

We won!
This football season Jayden and I were in the MUSS ( the mighty utah student section), and we had the opportunity to go to every game. Some games were better than others, for example, the TCU game was a huge disappointment, but the BYU game was so awesome! Sweet Jayden put up with my complaining about the cold and watching the game in the pouring rain. Even though for some games I would have rather watched them on tv, Jayden gets so excited and it is a fun date night.

Bubble Bath

image via istockphoto.com

So who can blame me if I take a bath everyday? The weather is getting colder and I love taking a hot bubble bath and reading. Today I finished the Great Gatsby again. Taking a bath is such a lovely way to relax and not worry or stress. This morning was a great start to Thanksgiving Break!

Warmer Weather

Today due to the Blizzard warning and classes being cancelled, Jayden and I had a chance to relax for the afternoon. It was nice just being stuck inside and not having anywhere to go. We were excited and expecting the blizzard to be pretty bad, but it wasn't much of a blizzard at all. All of this talk about cold makes me excited for next month, because my parents are taking us on a cruise for Christmas! Jayden has never been on a cruise before, so we are so excited! I am looking forward to the warm weather and no school.

Jayden posts too.

Hey everyone. I guess this is half my blog as well. So this is my post. :)

Halloween

Pumpkin Bowling

funny picture of Jayden when he got the apple to stick (He was really excited as you can tell)

Cute grandma and grandpa Garfield
This Halloween I decided to make our costumes, since we don't have a lot of extra cash to spend. We decided to be Fred and Wilma flinstone. I didn't know how hard it was to make costumes without patterns, so I just winged it and they turned out pretty good! On friday night we went to Jaydens Grandma and Grandpas house for a Garfield Halloween party. It was a lot of fun to see family again and not to mention all dressed up! We played some fun games (courtesy of Jodi and Ryan). The games included pumpkin bowling, and a fun game where you tied an apple around your waist and had to impale it on a nail on a board ( look at picture).

a weekend to remember!

At Nightmare on 13th
Freezing at the Football game!
Last weekend was one of the best weekends I can remember. I love weekends, because I get to spend more time with Jayden. On friday night we went to Nightmare on 13th and watched a Halloween movie. On saturday we went to a friends wedding luncheon. Also on Saturday we went to cheer on our UTES in the freezing rain, but shared a pizza afterward. On sunday we had a regional conference that ended at 12:00, our regular ward doesn't end until 3:30 so it was great having the whole afternoon to spend together. We also carved pumpkins, which was a lot of fun. Last week also is special because it is  the 1 year mark for Jayden and I. We met mid-october and started dating around Halloween so it is a special holiday for us!
