Fourth of July 2014

I have a lot to catch up on here on our blog. We've kept really busy lately, and I have put blogging on the back burner. We will start with Fourth of July. Our day was a lot of fun. We started out with our ward breakfast, flag ceremony, and bike parade. Jayden had to help cook food starting at 6:45 so no sleeping in for him. We had to be there at 8 so it was an early morning. Gavin LOVES American flags, so I knew that he would love Fourth of July.

Before the breakfast there was a flag ceremony. Gavin was very respectful and had his hand over his heart.

The bike parade was a lot of fun. Gavin rode his dusty airplane bike with Jayden helping him. Then Jayden decided that it was Lily's turn. haha.

After the breakfast we decided to run 4 miles for 4th of July

Later that afternoon our friends Pere and Jeanne came over to BBQ with us. We had an amazing bbq! They brought corn and sausages and we bbq'ed filet mingon wrapped in bacon and shrimp over cedar planks. Jayden also threw some mesquite wood chips on the charcoal so the flavor was incredible.

We decided to watch the downtown Jacksonville fireworks. We wanted to go to a spot that wasn't super crowded so we drove to Riverside and got an amazing spot right on the river!

After the fireworks we had homemade peach crisp for dessert.

Gavin didn't have a chance on Fourth of July to do fireworks so Jayden helped him do some sparklers and snappers this week.
