See You in 2!

Drew left on his mission on Wednesday. On Tuesday Drew was set apart as a missionary, so we came down Tuesday night and spent the night. On Wednesday we at lunch at La Jolla Groves and then dropped Drew off at the MTC. It was a great 2 days and we are excited for the experience that he will have. See you in 2, Drew!

This was when Drew was about to be set apart. My grandma found out that the Flathers side has a lot of history in Kentucky. Pretty cool!

Drew's Farewell

A lot of you probably know that Drew left on his mission today. I will post about that very soon, but first I want to post about his Farewell a few weeks ago. In our church, when a missionary leaves on a mission, they first have to give a talk in church to the congregation. After Drew's talk in church, we had close family and friends over to congratulate Drew.

The food: quiche, fruit, muffins, rolls, pie, and cake

Since Drew is going to Kentucky, my mom had the theme of "Ride for the Roses" because in Kentucky is where they have the Kentucky Derby and the "Run for the Roses"

Called to Serve

Tonight was a great night for our family. My little brother Drew received is mission call. It was a blast to have family and friends over for dinner and as Drew opened his call. We were sad that my Dad wasn't able to join us ( he was listening over the phone) because he is on a 3 week business trip in Europe. It was a great experience to see Drew open his call. Drew is called to serve in the Louisville, Kentucky mission. He reports to the MTC on January 23rd, 2013. He will be speaking English. We are thrilled for Drew, and a little bit surprised! We thought he would be called to a foreign mission, but we know his call is inspired and he will be an amazing missionary to the people of Kentucky, and the surrounding areas. We are so proud of you Drew!

The rest of the night was having fun with cousins. Gavin liked playing with his cousins and they would crawl around with him.
