DIY Project Weekend

This last weekend, we spent Saturday working on the nursery. We are almost finished! We went on a mini shopping spree and did a couple of fun DIY projects.

Project #1: Fabric closet door. Since the walls are already painted, we didn't want to paint over them so we decided to accent the room with a fabric panel on one of the closet doors. This was Jayden's project, and he did such a good job! It looks so professional and really makes the room pop.

Project #2: Valance. The window in the nursery is very wide, and we got a valance in our bedding set. Since the valance wouldn't fit the width, we decided to find fabric to piece it together and make one long valance. This was my project. I don't have too much experience with sewing, but I think it turned out pretty cute.

Also, we found the rug at Costco! We were just walking down the isles, not looking for anything in particular when we spotted it. The rug really ties together the whole room. Also, my mom found the giraffe online, and he is so cute! Definitely a great addition to the room. I am going to be working on a couple projects for the walls. The rocking chair we are going to paint and reupholster as well.  Hope you like the pictures!

Everything coming together!

The rug we found

  1. So cute, Chloe!! I wish we were in our final resting spot so that I could get going on a nursery. It kinda bites to have to move in your third trimester. Luckily you don't have to do that! I love the animal theme. I think that's what I'm going to do, too! :)

  2. That room looks really big..that is so nice. I love the decorations!

Thanks for showing us some love!
